Each year's harvest is laboratory tested

Please take time to smell and to savour the scent of pine trees growing with the olives in our orchards. Our Puranda oil will gently caress your taste buds with its fresh and mildly fruity taste with notes of fresh herbs. In case you wonder about the slight bitterness in the back of your throat and some pepperiness, especially in the aftertaste, these are signs of high polyphenols levels - the "good stuff" giving many health benefits.

ORGANIC

Our orchards are organic certified and the olives are grown without the use of chemicals or pesticides.

SINGLE ESTATE

There is 100% traceability to the soil of our orchards.

HAND PICKED & COLD PRESSED

Each day our olives are handpicked in the morning and then cold pressed (within 8 hours) to harness the full health benefits and fresh taste of the harvest.

BOTTLED AND STORED WITH CARE

Our opaque white bottle prevents deterioration from UV light and comes with a special pouring cap to prevent oxidisation during use. (Before bottling the oil is stored in impermeable, stainless steel tanks for several weeks, allowing the olive oil to naturally settle and helping develop its complex flavour profile).

CONFIDENCE

We laboratory test each year’s harvest and therefore have confidence to share the technical results from each year’s harvest. A snapshot from these results are listed below:

• Polyphenol levels are very high at 400mg / kg (>250 = high polyphenol health benefits)
• Free fatty acids are low at 0.33% (<0.8% qualifies an oil to be extra virgin)
• Oleic acid at 0.69% is high (>55% qualifies an oil to be extra virgin) = good oil durability
• UV spectrometry at 2.43 (E232) & 0.19 (E270) and peroxide values at 5.38 are very low = good purity and freshness
